Vera Obeng Photography

Vera Obeng is a Ghanaian photographer. She doubles as an art and commercial photographer.

Photography for Vera started in Ghana National College (2003-2006) where Freshers were asked to get cameras to enable them have a better understanding of a course they had to do in Visual Art; She later worked as a photographer at Design Innovate before getting formal training at Takoradi Polytechnic. She stepped into the male-dominated world of art and commercial photography by enrolling in the Photography Institute, UK (2012) where she sharpened her skills in Professional Photography. For three years, she worked as a photography assistant at Fondjo images and also took part in several photography workshop and commission works with the photographer Jean Rivel Fondjo. She had a solo exhibition themed SIGNBOARDS – Divine Pearls on the street somewhere near you (2014) in collaboration with Ghoexhibiton and Golden Tulip Kumasi city. Her work was recently featured on Nikons social media page (2015).

Vera Obeng has a gift for capturing emotion in a way that illustrates life in its most natural form. Together with a team of photographers selected and trained, Vera Obeng Photography brings a fresh and unique approach to photography by allowing their photojournalistic and inconspicuous style to capture the distinctive expressions and personalities of their subjects.
