A marriage certificate is an official document that proves that two people are legally married. In Ghana, the process of getting a marriage certificate is simple and straightforward. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Obtain A Marriage Application Form

The first step to getting a marriage certificate in Ghana is to obtain a marriage application form. You can get this form from the Marriage Registry at any District Assembly or Metropolitan Assembly in Ghana.

Step 2: Fill Out The Form

Once you have obtained the marriage application form, you need to fill it out. The form will require you to provide personal information such as your name, age, occupation, and address. You will also need to provide information about your intended spouse.

Step 3: Submit The Form

After filling out the form, you need to submit it along with the required documents to the Marriage Registry. The required documents include:

  • A copy of your birth certificate
  • A copy of your passport or national ID card
  • A copy of your intended spouse’s birth certificate
  • A copy of your intended spouse’s passport or national ID card
  • 4 passport-size photographs of each partner
