“Focus on the dream, Blur the Obstacle”- Paa Kwesi.

The above words were the guiding mantra that helped award-winning Ghanaian wedding photographer, Paa Kwesi to quit his job as a graphic designer to start Focusnblur pictures and Focus Films, the videography arm of the multimedia company.

Building Focusnblur wasn’t a rosy journey as the brand transitioned from different monikers before finally settling on the nomenclature, Focus N Blur.

But what perhaps threw Paa Kwesi and his team into the public domain and caused them to become a sought after name in the event industry was his sheer determination to be the best, self-discipline, motivation, humility, collaboration and his constant need to evolve.

At a point, he sold photography gear to other photographers which opened him up to industry players and was a member of Wedding Slayers, a trio of wedding photographers.

Just last year on this same day my business took a mad spin. Captured a wedding guest that took @focusnblur to the world and beyond. Today I have a wedding just opposite the same grounds. God, if be it your will, I pray let today open doors, break walls and above all give massive glory to your existence. Shoot us to space and leave us in complete limbo of your glory, grace and mercies on me, my business, my co-workers and family. This I pray to you. Amen!!”

And we bet the prayer has worked since. FocusnBlur currently employs over 10 professional photographers and filmmakers who have created an enviable bond. Their Instagram page as garnered over 144 thousand fans who are constantly on their pages assimilating the well-curated wedding content.

It was therefore not such a surprise that they were contracted to shoot what Ghanaians are calling the wedding of the year; Kennedy Osei and Tracy Ameyaw’s luxurious wedding in Accra.

His works have been featured on top wedding websites including Bellanaija Weddings, I do Ghana, Weddings On Point, Black Brides, Munaluchi and many others.

PK is a 1-time winner of the Ghana photography challenge and in 2019, he and his team were adjudged as best event photography company at the Event Vendors Awards & Gala.

Paa Kwesi is an old boy of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary and an alumnus of the University of Cape Coast. He lives in Accra with his beautiful wife, Naa.
